This past weekend, a good friend of mine turned me on to the artist known as City and Colour. The band is made up of singer/guitarist Dallas Green, and a rotating ensemble of back-up musicians. What's most surprising is that Green is also the guitarist and vocalist in hardcore band Alexisonfire. Now, if you've ever heard any Alexisonfire, or hardcore music at all, you'll be wondering how anyone could transition to folk/acoustic music. Well Green is a ridiculous musician because he does it so well. The music is melodic, and reminds me a lot of Bon Iver. Check out a few songs below. Oh, and the name City and Colour comes from Green's name. Dallas, a city, and Green, a colour. I honestly cannot recommend this enough, so it comes HIGHLY recommended.
