It's very hard for an album to have staying power. Contra came out last January, and remained one of my favorites for the entire year. (And the videos for "Giving Up the Gun" and "Holiday" are two of my all-time favorites.)

Vampire Weekend "Holiday (Video)"
And I thought the "Giving Up the Gun" video was the best I'd ever seen. I forgot who I'm dealing with. This video is just amazing, and "Holiday" wasn't even one of my favorite songs on the album.

Vampire Weekend- Contra
While Contra officially drops a week from today (1/12), VW decided to post the entire album to stream on their myspace Sunday night. Someone should give these guys a marketing degree, because they are geniuses. Anyways, as you can imagine, I've been listening basically non-stop since Sunday evening, but I will hold off my "review" until next Tuesday when it officially drops. Let's just say it's worth the listen: Myspace

Vampire Weekend "White Sky"
Vampire Weekend- "White Sky" The Web Sheriff got to this one. Best to just head over to VW's Myspace and take a listen there.
And just in case you didn't get it yet, here's "Horchata," also off of Contra dropping 1/12. It is the PERFECT winter song, and seeing how it is winter....yea.
